Women's Eye Health and Safety Month

Women's Eye Health and Safety Month

April is observed as Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month. Although we only celebrate this once a year, eye health is something that should be considered all year round! Here are some easy ways to make sure you are taking care of your eyes to maintain long-term eye health!

  1. Invest in Blue-Light glasses: At Phonetic, we encourage everyone who sits in front of a screen all day to invest in our blue light blocking glasses! Our lenses reflect approximately 30% of the blue light that is emitted from digital devices which helps combat symptoms of digital eye strain.
  2. Get A Yearly Eye Exam: Each year we schedule doctor’s appointment for our general health, teeth, etc. It is imperative to incorporate eye exams into your yearly routine to make sure your eyes are as healthy as can be!
  3. Wear Protective Eyewear in the Sun: Those bright summer days can be incredibly damaging to the eyes. Invest in quality sun wear that clearly states “100% UV protection” before purchasing.
  4. Eat Healthy and Stay Active: These two should already be apart of your regular routine however they can make a big difference in eye health too! Eating foods with Vitamin C, Vitamin E, beta carotene and omega-3 fatty acids while staying constantly active can help prevent eye disease and vision loss!
