TGIF! Friday night is movie night. If you’re off to the movie theatre tonight or any upcoming weekends, here are some films both currently playing and coming soon you don’t want to miss.

400 Days: January 12

This film is perfect for any space-lovers looking for something to see after Star Wars. In a government experiment, four astronauts are locked in a simulator to see what the psychological effects of long-term, deep-space exploration would be. Completely cut off from the outside world, the astronauts begin to question if it’s a simulation, or if they actually are in deep-space.

The 5th Wave: January 22

Adults and teens alike will enjoy this science-fiction adventure film. After four waves of deadly attacks on Earth and 5th wave approaching, Cassie (Chloe Grace Mortez) tries to protect her brother in a desolate, post-apocalyptic world.

Dirty Grandpa: January 22

What do you get when you combine seasoned actor Robert DeNiro and current sensation Zac Efron? A hilarious comedy about a grandpa trying to show his engaged and uptight grandson showing his grandson how to live life to the fullest during a Florida spring break trip.

Kung Fu Panda 3: January 29

If animated movies are more your speed, you might like the third installment in Jack Black’s Kung Fu Panda series, which is jam-packed with new characters and hilarious scenes. Po’s long-lost father has suddenly reappeared, and the united father-son duo travel to a panda village. When a villain threatens their new home, Po must teach all his clumsy brethren kung fu.

Zoolander 2: February 12

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are back as as male models Derek and Hansel in this hilarious sequel to the 2001 comedy. Now considered “has-beens,” the pair find themselves back in the spotlight when some of the world’s most beautiful celebrities are assassinated with the Derek’s iconic “Blue Steel” look on his face. Now it’s up to them to discover the assassin and put a stop to his evil plan.

How to be Single: February 12

With an all star cast, this rom-com is sure to be hilarious. After a bad breakup, Alice (Dakota Johnson) attempts to reenter the ever-evolving dating scene with some questionable advice from her party-loving friends.

Gods of Egypt: February 26

Whether you like action, history, or fantasy, this movie is a must-see. In ancient times, Egyptian God of darkness Set (Gerard Butler) attempts to take over the Egyptian empire, and mortal Bet (Brenton Thwaites) joins the Egyptian Gods in a war to save the world.
