Girl that Codes: Maddy Maxey

Self-made and self-taught, Madison Maxey is a young innovator you’ll remember. Growing up with technology has allowed young techsters to expand their thinking and push the envelope with tech developments. Madison Maxey or Maddy as she goes by is a perfect example of this notion.

She began her career journey by learning to sew at the age of 8 and landing an internship with Tommy Hilfiger by 16. After attending Parsons School of Design for a year she decided to launch her own women’s blazers line. During this time, she became interested in coding and taught herself how to code. Amazing right?

Although she is young she has worked hard, and she has put in ample hours of reading and studying to get to where she is today. She has had countless residencies and fellowships. Maddy was the first designer to be picked as the recipient of the Thiel Fellowship. She has even been named in the Forbes 30 under 30: Art and Style. In addition, she has a variety of skills with coding, design, and fabrication.

Currently, she is working on The Crafted, her design and engineering studio that creates clothing that integrates technology to the garments. Not only is she working on her dream she also loves our specs!!
